Our Story

The Detroit Cheesecake Company is a Detroit home-based business that started out as a hobby.  One summer I was given a gourmet cheesecake cookbook as a gift and then I thought, maybe I can turn this into something serious, so I started experimenting with my own recipes only using the finest and freshest ingredients. Three years later my vision was born Lorraine's Gourmet Cheesecakes named after my biggest supporter, my mother. As the company grew, on my mother's suggestion I decided to change the name of the company to my second biggest supporter The City of Detroit, The Detroit Cheesecake Company.
